The Workshop

Grateful & Grounded Kids Workshop

A structured, multi-session experience for parents who want a practical household plan around work, finances, and technology.

Overview

More Than a Seminar

The Grateful & Grounded Kids Workshop is not a one-night lecture you forget by Tuesday. It's a guided process that walks parents through the thinking, planning, and implementation of a household economy — one that makes sense for your family, your values, and your kids' ages.

Over the course of several sessions, you'll build a real, working plan around three areas: Work & Responsibility, Financial Literacy, and Technology Management. You'll leave with something you can actually use — not just inspiration, but a framework.

  • Format: Multi-session guided experience

The Process

How the Workshop Works

Each phase builds on the last. By the end, you won't just understand the ideas — you'll have a plan that fits your family.

1

Keynote Evening

90 minutes · All parents together

Doug lays the foundation: what entitlement really is, why it's the natural result of privilege without responsibility, and how the three pillars — Work, Finances, and Technology — form the structure of a grounded household. This is the "why" session.

2

Pre-Work & Reflection

At home · Between sessions

Parents receive a guided workbook and reflection materials. You'll assess where your family currently stands — what's working, what's not, and where the gaps are. This honest inventory is the starting point for your plan.

3

Workshop Sessions

2–3 hours · Interactive & hands-on

The heart of the experience. Working through each pillar, parents build out their household plan: chore systems and accountability, age-appropriate financial structures (saving, spending, giving, investing), and a technology contract that sets real boundaries. Doug facilitates, but you do the work that matters — because your plan has to fit your family.

4

Follow-Up Zoom

60 minutes · 4–6 weeks later

After you've had time to implement, the group reconvenes on Zoom. What's sticking? What needs adjusting? This session gives you the accountability and fine-tuning that makes the plan last — not just a burst of motivation that fades by month two.

Outcomes

What You'll Walk Away With

Age-appropriate structures for saving, spending, giving, and investing — habits that grow with your kids into real financial competence.

A Technology Contract

A written agreement covering screens, devices, gaming, phones, social media, and parental controls — boundaries that match your family's values.
